Fans could steam an entire play-through in real time, and join in on the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #psbmuzutv. But don't worry if you missed it: The Guardian have an exclusive stream of Elysium for you to enjoy.

The 12-track synth-pop album was recorded in Los Angeles with Andrew Dawson, who has previously worked with the likes of Kanye West. A release date has been confirmed for 10 October, and will feature previously released single Invisible.

Pet Shop Boys recently gave a live performance at the Olympic Games Closing Ceremony. They were pulled around in geometrically sculptured Romanesque chariots while singing tracks new and old. One half of Pet Shop Boys, Chris Lowe, said: 'We had a rehearsal to make sure the hat wasn’t going to fall off'.
