Sheffield rock band Arctic Monkeys have seen a 329 percent increase in the streaming of their music on Spotify since headlining Glastonbury.

Sheffield rock band Arctic Monkeys have seen a 329 percent increase in the streaming of their music on Spotify since headlining Glastonbury.

According to the music streaming and subscription service, music fans are heading to the site to rehear songs played by artists at the festival.

Alex Turner and his band topped the bill for the Pyramid stage on the Friday night of the festival the week they announced details of their new album AM and autumn arena tour.

Elsewhere Chic and Nile Rodgers enjoyed a 260 percent increase while Public Enemy achieved a 148 percent rise following their respective performances.

1.   Arctic Moneys: 329 percent increase

2.    Chic feat. Nile Rodgers: 260 percent increase

3.    Public Enemy: 148 percent increase

4.    Rolling Stones: 125 percent increase

5.    Portishead: 91 percent increase

6.    Dizzee Rascal: 83 percent increase

7.    Hurts: 55 percent increase

The ’Glastonbury effect’ has also been seen in the album charts with Mumford and Sons seeing a 384 percent increase in sales after their triumphant headline set on the final night of the event. Read the full story.
