We’re getting close to the next Momentum grantee announcement, something we’re always really excited to share here at the PRS for Music Foundation.

We receive a huge amount of applications for every round, with the quality of both the music and the applications increasing with each deadline.

It’s really difficult to pick just 10 artists for this playlist, so I’ll be as eclectic as possible! Be sure to check out our Spotify account for a full round up, and scroll down to listen to my picks for M...

MONEY – So Long (God is Dead)
Money are band from Manchester who not only have their own unique sound, but an imitable way of expressing themselves… Always unpredictable, we can’t wait to see how 2016 pans out for them.

Lonelady - Hinterland
Lonelady has had an incredible 2015, with countless festivals and high profile coverage. Her cracking album Hinterland received huge acclaim too.

Floating PointsSilhouettes (I, II & III)
Floating Points was one of our earliest funded artists, and one we’re incredibly proud to have supported. The past six months especially have seen him reach a brand new, ever expanding audience. Much deserved.

Andreya Triana - Gold
Another artist who’s had an incredibly successful 2015. Andreya is everywhere! We’re thrilled she’s managed to achieve what she set out to, and proud to have played our part by funding the album.

The Wytches – Weights and Ties
Having funded the debut album, it’s so exciting to see the Peterborough and Brighton three-piece go from strength to strength. With seemingly endless touring, not just in the UK but across Europe and US, the debut LP has received huge critical acclaim. Now holed up recording LP two, we can’t wait to hear how they progress.

PINSGirls Like Us
Another of our Momentum alumni from Manchester, PINS have grown both musically and in terms of numbers on stage throughout 2015, with another successful year of touring.

Public Service Broadcasting – Go!
So MUCH SUCCESS – you can’t condense it into a tiny paragraph. We’re thrilled to have funded the making of their second album, and to see it do so, so well.

Little SimzDead Body
Another artist on up, Little Simz has caught everyone off-guard this year with her individualism and musical fierceness. The Dice Live Award winner became one of our latest Momentum fundees back in August, just before her incredible debut album A Curious Case of Trials + Persons.

Bill Ryder JonesTwo to Birkenhead
Touring has been the one thing Bill Ryder Jones and his team wanted to really ramp up for this new release, and a three-way bill with fellow Momentum grantees Spring King supporting Spector was sold out across the UK. West Kirby County Primary feels like a real moment for Bill, we’re beyond happy to help ensure the tracks reach the large audience they so deserve.

Francis Lung – Something Blue
Francis Lung is the moniker of Manchester resident and former WU LYF bassist, Tom McClung. Tom’s beautiful solo record Faeher’s Son was written over three years and bears witness to a fair amount of turbulence and reflection. His Momentum funding helped him schedule some tour dates and hire support from publicists and radio pluggers.
