October 2024 Distribution Update
Over £230 million in royalties being paid out in October.
We’re paying royalties to over 78,000 members, with more than 5,000 being paid for the first time.
In the largest distribution of 2024, we’re paying out over £230m in royalties. The payment includes an extra £689k in royalties from online streaming services (MTOL), due to the admin rate reduction earlier this year.
A summer filled with music, including performances from PRS members Coldplay, Take That, Liam Gallagher and Texas, has supported a 4% year-on-year increase in public performance royalties. Plus, royalties from on-demand video services, including Netflix, BBC iPlayer and Disney+, are up 17% year-on-year.
October’s payment also includes significant contributions from broadcast, including TV and commercial radio, and international society payments from GEMA (Germany) and ASCAP (USA).
