Ed Sheeran and Sam Chokri Copyright Dispute

We are aware of ongoing media attention surrounding the legal action and copyright dispute between PRS for Music songwriter members Ed Sheeran and Sam Chokri. As an organisation governed by its members, PRS for Music is completely impartial in all cases where ownership and/or authorship of songs or compositions are challenged. We do not play a role in overseeing, resolving, or ruling dispute claims. In line with PRS for Music’s dispute and duplicate claims policy, it is the responsibility of the claimants to resolve the dispute between themselves or via an external legal process. PRS for Music may pause royalty distributions until the matter is resolved, as it is our duty to our members to ensure that fair remuneration is paid to the rightful creators of that work.
