The newly revamped YouTube for Artists now includes a dedicated hub for songwriters and producers. Featuring advice on how to make the most of YouTube channels, which are pitched to songwriters as a ‘visual discography’ that can replace a traditional one-sheet, the page also centralises resources on playlists, live streaming, and monetisation.
Announcing the launch on Monday 13 June, YouTube Music tweeted:
In addition to quick tips, the hub includes deep dives on playlists and sections, linking through to real-life examples featuring ‘the most-played hits and essential tracks from today’s biggest songwriters and producers’.
Billed as ‘The Home for Songwriters on YouTube’, the new resource is targeted towards emerging songwriters and producers not yet familiar with the platform’s capabilities. An equivalent page for publishers, societies and PROs covers similar topics, demonstrating how the platform can be used to highlight new signings and catalogue milestones, to showcase events, and to promote other endeavors relevant to your organisation.
