Hip hop group Young Fathers have won the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) for their latest record Tape Two.
The album is the trio’s follow up to 2011 debut Tape One and was picked from a shortlist featuring the likes of Biffy Clyro, Mogwai and Edwyn Collins.
Tape Two was picked by a panel of music experts and unveiled as the winner at a ceremony at Glasgow Barrowlands last night (19 June).
Young Fathers received £20,000 for their SAY win while all runners up were given £1,000.
Stewart Henderson, chair of the Scottish Music Industry Association (SMIA), said: ‘On behalf of the SMIA I'd just like to say how delighted we are for Young Fathers. Tape Two is an extraordinary album and a deserving winner out of a phenomenally strong shortlist.
‘The SMIA is extremely proud to be so closely linked with The SAY Award - a prestigious and increasingly important celebration of Scotland's quite exceptional musical output.’
