Award-winning music convention Wide Days is to return to Edinburgh on 21-22 April thanks to support from the PRS for Music Foundation.
The conference component, hosted on the first day, returns to the world’s oldest student union building, Teviot Row House, with the themes and speakers due to be announced later this month.
Live showcases will run consecutively across several key venues throughout the evening of 21 April. The second day will continue to focus on informal networking, with a guided tour, barbecue and other activities.
Olaf Furniss, convention founder, said: ‘Wide Days is a great opportunity to combine business with pleasure, and we look forward to building on the event’s international appeal.'
‘The PRS Foundation partnership will enable us to provide more mentoring for the showcasing artists before and after the event, and allow us to further develop as a springboard for talent across all genres.’
A significant proportion of previous showcase acts have gone on to perform at festivals and events outside Scotland including The Great Escape, SXSW, Folk Alliance, Eurosonic and Reeperbahn Festival.
Previous performers have included Honeyblood, Fatherson, C Duncan, and Elle Exxe.
Artists looking to perform can now make applications. The deadline for submissions is Friday 10 February.
