The Music Venue Trust will be celebrating the UK’s live music scene with Venues Day.

Taking place on 9 December at London’s Southbank, the event will bring together professionals from the sector to network, share ideas and views and plan the future.

More than 50 gig venues are already booked to take part in what organisers hope will be a national ‘conversation’ about the state of the grassroots live music scene.

Panels will include discussion on best practice, noise vs nuisance and a final debate featuring participants from UK Music and the Arts Council England on what’s next for this network.

The event follows campaigning by singer songwriter Frank Turner to protect the live music circuit after numerous venues have been threatened with closure during the last year. Click here for the full story.

Venues Day is supported by Arts Council England and is presented by the Music Venue Trust in association with Independent Venue Week and the Southbank Centre.

Venue Booking for Venues Day is open by invitation now; if you are a venue manager, owner, booker or promoter, you can apply for a free delegate pass and assistance with travel costs by contacting musicvenuetrust@gmail.com.
