Acclaimed singer songwriter Van Morrison will help the Cambridge Folk Festival mark its 50th year with a headline performance.
Taking place 31 July - 3 August, Van Morrison will headline the final night of the event while Sinead O’Connor will offer a rare live performance in the same slot on Friday 1 August.
The Full English, featuring Fay Hield, Seth Lakeman, Martin Simpson, Nancy Kerr, Sam Sweeney, Rob Harbron and Ben Nicholls, will perform a set of early 20th century folksong while the likes of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Afro Celt Sound System and American folk singer Peggy Seeger will also be performing.
Eddie Barcan, festival manager, said: ‘We intend to celebrate 50 years of amazing music and great times in style this coming summer and look forward to welcoming everyone to Cambridge in July.’

Meanwhile, BBC Radio 2 has announced that the Cambridge Folk Festival is the recipient of the Good Tradition Award at this year’s Folk Awards on 19 February.
