Leading lights from the world's creative industries are to gather at a UNESCO conference to explore the transfer of value and the challenges it brings to creators around the globe.

Key agenda items for the event on 12 June in France include the challenges facing culture and creative industries in the digital environment, the need for harmonised and effective legislation and how can artistic freedom be protected in the digital environment.

CISAC, the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers, will lead a keynote debate on these issues as part of its global campaign to address the transfer of value, otherwise known as the ‘value gap’. Jean-Michel Jarre, the organisation’s president, will lead the event.

It is being held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in the week immediately following CISAC's annual General Assembly in Lisbon, which has seen music creators and figureheads from across the world’s creative industries come together to call on governments to address the value gap.
