UK Music has announced that music entrepreneur Ammo Talwar is to take up the position of chair of its Equality and Diversity Taskforce.
Talwar will replace Keith Harris OBE, who has chaired the taskforce for the last three years.
The taskforce was established in 2015 and works with music businesses, Government and other stakeholders to support inclusion and diversity across the industry.
UK Music undertook its first industry-wide workforce diversity survey around gender and ethnicity in 2016 and the last survey was published in 2018.
Talwar founded the specialist record shop PUNCH in 1996 before building the company into an award-winning music agency.
He received an MBE in 2008 and now undertakes a strategic role championing equality and diversity through his positions on multiple boards and knowledge transfer projects.

Keith Harris comments: ‘Having headed the UK music equality and diversity taskforce for three years, during which time we have seen the industry inching towards a more balanced and diverse workforce, I am delighted to be handing over to Ammo Talwar.
‘His energy and enthusiasm will help to make sure that the momentum is not lost and his perspective from outside the London environment will drive the new initiatives needed make sure that we have an industry which fairly represents the whole music community.’
