Almost three quarters of UK music fans still purchase music as CDS and on other physical formats, a new study has said.

The Fans.Passions.Brands report from Havas Sports and Entertainment revealed that 73 percent out of 1,000 British respondents purchase CDs. This figure is higher than the global average of 67 percent.

43 percent of UK fans buy from iTunes, Google Play or other digital services while just 30 percent use free streaming sites.

Radio remains the most popular way to listen to music in the UK. The research found that 68 percent of respondents use their car radio at least once a week.

Further findings showed that new methods of consuming music are helping expand the tastes of music lovers - more than half of those quizzed said they listen to at least ten different types of music.

Havas Sports & Entertainment's Fans.Passions.Brands study was conducted in partnership with the University of Southern California’s Annenberg Innovation Lab.

It surveyed 18,000 people across 17 countries, including 1,000 from the UK.
