The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) presented the 45th Gold Badge Awards on Friday (19 October), celebrating exceptional talent in the UK music industry.

Artist manager Jackie Davidson (above middle), received an award in association with PRS for Music, which was presented by PRS for Music chairman Nigel Elderton (above left) and songwriter Wayne Hector (above right).

As the founder of Jackie Davidson Management, Davidson has been influential in the careers of songwriters Wayne Hector and Ali Tennant, and was recently elected to the Board of Music Publishers Association (MPA).

Elsewhere, awards went to Annette Barrett (managing director at Reservoir / Reverb Music), engineer Nick Wollage, Ivor Novello Award winning songwriter Guy Fletcher OBE and composer Sarah Rodgers.

BASCA’s Gold Badge Awards are sponsored by PPL and PRS for Music. The ceremony took place at The Savoy in London, hosted by broadcaster Janice Long.

This year's edition acknowledged contributions to the worlds of jazz, classical, film, television and theatre music alongside songwriting.

Crispin Hunt, chair of BASCA said: 'The Gold Badge Awards always provide a fantastic opportunity and platform to recognise those who have achieved excellence in their chosen fields whilst contributing to the betterment of the wider musical community.

'This year’s list of recipients is full of inspiring individuals who we are honoured to celebrate.'
