UK Music is hosting a Careers Day to give young people the chance to access advice and information to help their first steps towards a career in the music industry.

The event takes place on 26 October at Ministry of Sound, London, and features a keynote speech from the venue’s marketing director Naz Idelji.

A panel of industry experts including Rachel Coomber (BBC Introducing producer), Bo-Dee Kelly (PPL), Paddy McLean (Polydor Records) and artist manager Teriy Keys will also discuss their roles and share top tips on how to gain a job in the sector.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to ‘Meet the Industry’ with PPL, Universal Music,  Beggars Music/XL Recordings, Warner Music Group, Music Publishers Association, Musicians’ Union, The BRIT School, Urban Development, UK Youth/Big Music Project, Imagem Music, ATC Management and others.

Jo Dipple, chief executive at UK Music, said: With advice from businesses like Ministry of Sound and Polydor, the attendees will be better informed on how to get that dream music job.

'There has never been a better time to do so with the music industry offering more support for young people than ever before. It’s an exciting time as our industry grew by 17 percent since the Olympics.’

Idelji added: ‘This is a great opportunity for the future generation to immerse themselves in the music industry and learn how they can become a part of its future.’
