UK Music has announced new responsibilities for its team to cover music activity in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, south, north and central England.

UK Music has announced new responsibilities for its team to cover music activity in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, south, north and central England.

UK Music staff will collaborate projects and activity with government, agencies, hubs, music experts, rehearsal spaces, schools and colleges to develop strategies for making the most of the music industry's £4.1bn industry’s commercial and cultural success.

Speaking from the Sound of Belfast 2015 Music Cities conference, Jo Dipple, UK Music chief executive officer, said: ‘I am here in Belfast to examine how cities can maximise their cultural status. UK Music’s recent report, Wish You Were Here 2015, revealed how every part of the UK contributes to music tourism, a business that generates £3.1bn to our economy.

'This country has a huge and proud music tradition. I want UK Music to dedicate activity towards supporting the nations and regions in maximising their musical output.'
