The UK Festivals Awards has opened for nominations for this year’s event in December.

Now in its tenth year, the awards were originally set up to celebrate the British festival season and the industry which helps make it happen.

Categories for the event include best major and small festival, best toilets, best family event and best dance festival. Other categories are more industry-focused and include promoter of the year and best use of new technology.

The winners will be presented with their trophies at a ceremony on Monday 2 December 2013 at The Roundhouse, London.

Last year’s winners included Bestival, Bloodstock Open Air and Festival Number Six as well as acts such as Jake Bugg and New Order.

Industry categories were awarded to William Morris Agency for Agency of the Year while Live Nation’s John Probyn was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The deadline for nominations for this year’s event is 27 September.

Nominations can be submitted via the UK Festival Awards website at www.festivalawards.com/apply.

Nominations for the European Festival Awards have also gone live today, with submissions being taken at eu.festivalawards.com/apply.
