Singer songwriter Zak Abel (pictured) and rap duo Young T & Bugsey are among the new wave of acts to be selected as Deezer Next ‘global priority acts’.

The initiative grants chosen artists 12 months’ worth of major playlisting and marketing support from the platform, which currently operates in 180 countries worldwide.

Abel, who featured on Gorgon City’s 2014 hit Unmissable, is signed to Atlantic Records and Sony/ATV for publishing.

He’s released a string of singles and EPs, alongside last year’s debut album Only When We’re Naked.

Nottingham’s Young T & Bugsey have been gradually building since signing to Sony while still teenagers, back in 2016.

Both acts join BRITs Critics Choice Award winner Jorja Smith, who was selected for the Deezer Next programme back in January.

The next two rounds of artists will be revealed in June and September.
