Trish Keenan, Lead singer of influential psych-pop group Broadcast has died from pneumonia aged 42.
It has been reported on the BBC website that Keenan caught swine flu while on tour in Australia. Complications occurred and the singer died in hospital on January 14, 2011 after battling the illness for two weeks.
Keenan co-founded Broadcast with the band's bassist James Cargill in Birmingham during the mid 90s. They were joined by Roj Stevens on keyboards, Tim Felton on guitar and Steve Perkins on drums. The band's first album The Noise Made By People was released in 2000 after a series of cult EPs.
