Mystery Jets, Johnny Flynn & The Sussex Wit and Marika Hackman will all perform at the 10th anniversary celebrations for Transgressive Records.

Taking place on 30 September at the Barbican, the three live acts will be joined by special guest DJs to blow off the candles on the label’s birthday cake.

Toby L, co-founder of Transgressive, said: ‘The Barbican is one of the world’s finest venues so it’s both an honour and privilege for us to be presenting an evening of our roster as part of our 10th birthday celebrations. This will be a real centerpiece night in a full year of events for us - and there are more names to come. We cannot wait.’

Chris Sharp, curator at the Barbican, added: ‘I was blown away by a Mystery Jets show at the Barfly some time in 2004, and I’ve been keeping an eye on Transgressive’s progress ever since. Over the last 10 years they’ve carved out a distinct identity by working with a succession of great artists, and we’re very pleased that they’ll bringing some of them here on 30 September; it’s going to be a great evening.’

The anniversary announcement follows news of Transgressive’s stage take over at this year’s Latitude Festival with sets from Simian Mobile Disco, Snakehips, and Two Inch Punch.

The label was originally founded when Toby and Tim Dellow were introduced at a small London gig by Kele from Bloc Party.

Tickets are on general sale Friday 6 June from the Barbican website.
