Tindersticks will help launch Singing Skies, a new exhibition from the band’s songwriter Stuart A Staples and his wife Suzanne Osborne.

The exhibition will be held at London’s Leonard Street Gallery 29 November – 1 December and is based on Suzanne’s A year in small paintings - Skies, September 2010 - September 2011 project.

Tindersticks will perform a special acoustic gig on 28 November at a private view at the gallery to launch the event.

She painted a picture of the changing daily skies everyday for a year and released the collection as the Singing Skies book. The publication included Stuart's Tindersticks lyrics from across the band's career.

The London exhibition will see all 365 original ‘sky paintings’ exhibited alongside Stuart's hand typed song lyrics.

Stuart Staples said: ‘As I watched Suzanne work, sometimes furiously to catch a moment in a fast-changing sky, at other times, able to explore a sky more static, I was struck by how similar the process was to the writing of my songs. I felt they belonged together.’

2013 has marked the 20th anniversary of the first album by Tindersticks. The band have so released their 10th studio record, Across six leap years, this year.
