Thriller tops iconic Halloween song chart

Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield and the Psycho movie title track have topped the most iconic Halloween song chart.

A survey undertaken by PRS for Music polled 1,700 people across the UK, who revealed that cult favourites The Monster Mash and Scooby Doo are also in the top 10.

They sit alongside some more hard-hitting scary theme tunes such as the signature tunes from films Psycho and Halloween.

So, if you’re having a scary party tonight, make sure you playlist some of these classics:

  2. Tubular Bells – Mike Oldfield (from The Exorcist)

  3. Psycho – Bernard Herrmann (from Psycho)

  4. The Monster Mash – Bobby ‘Boris’ Pickett

  5. Halloween – John Carpenter (from Halloween)

  6. Scooby Doo, Where Are You? – Billy Ray Cyrus

  7. Fortuna – Carl Orff (from The Omen)

  8. Freddie – Charles Bernstein (from Nightmare on Elm Street)

  9. Carrie – Pino Donaggio (from Carrie)

  10. Nightmare On My street – DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince
