Two special concerts will be held in venues in Northern England, as well as the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra's studio in Salford. So far The xx have been confirmed to play at a venue in Bridlington, East Riding, on 19 September. They will play tracks from previous studio album, xx, but also songs from mostly unheard forthcoming album, Coexist. Both gigs are part of the BBC Philharmonic Presents... festival, which will also include events that feature the music of the James Bond films.
New tracks unique to the shows will also be played, composed by Alex Baranowski, who has previously worked on The National Theatre's productions of Hamlet and Frankenstein. In an interview with the BBC, Baranowski said that the show would 'feature new orchestral material' to accompany previously heard works by The xx.
You can apply for tickets to the events from the BBC Philharmonic Orchestras's website. But don't worry if you cannot make it - it will also be broadcast on BBC Radio 1.
The xx's new album Coexist is out on 10 September.
