The bands' sophomore studio albums Come of Age (The Vaccines) and Beacon (Two Door Cinema Club) went in at number one and two respectively. This was significant, given what they were up against, including Rita Ora's debut, ORA (now at number 3 three) and Olympic songstress Emeli Sande, with Our Version of Events (now at number 4 four).

Previously, The Vaccines and Two Door Cinema Club only managed to reach 4th and 24th places respectively in the album charts with their debut efforts.

At the midweek point on Wednesday last week, The Vaccines took an early lead by 5,000 copies. However, by Sunday they were the clear winners with 11,000 copies sold, reports the Official Charts Company.
