BASCA has just revealed that Plan B, aka songwriter Ben Drew, has been nominated in the Best Contemporary Song and Best Original Film Score categories for the Ill Manors soundtrack and its lead song.
alt-J’s track Fitzpleasure is up for Best Contemporary Song while the four-piece’s debut album An Awesome Wave features in the Album Award category. Emeli Sandé, together with co-writers Hugo Chegwin, Harry Craze and Anup Paul, appear in the Best Song Musically and Lyrically, and the PRS for Music Most Performed Work categories for their song Next To Me.
Meanwhile, Natasha Khan and Justin Parker, Ben Howard, Jake Bugg, John Powell and Lianne La Havas also received nominations.
The Ivor Novello Awards celebrate, honour and reward excellence in songwriting and composing. They are presented and judged by the writing community and considered amongst the most important awards for music creators.
The 58th Ivor Novello Awards will take place on Thursday 16 May 2013 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
