Indie rock band Swim Deep and soul-singer Yazmin Lacey (pictured) are among the next 12 acts who will receive support from PRS Foundation’s Momentum Music Fund.

They join Cate Le Bon, Emily Burns, Denzel Himself, and Lioness who will each benefit from grants of £5,000 – £15,000 to help take their careers to the next level.

Asylums, Ayelle, Barney Artist, Jerkcurb, Scrufizzer, and Sports Team are the final acts that make up the 12-strong list.

Luke Branch from Momentum supported Asylums said: ‘We’re delighted to be receiving PRS Foundation’s Momentum Music funding. This support will allow us to put our exciting third album plans into action, which we wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise.’

Vanessa Reed, chief executive officer, PRS Foundation commented: ‘Huge congratulations to the latest talented artists receiving our career-boosting Momentum Music Fund support. As the recent independent report on the impact of Momentum showed, this targeted support for music creators at a crucial tipping point makes a real difference in the development of their careers artistically and financially and subsequently contributes to the wider music industry.

‘I look forward to following their progress and seeing which other artists benefit in 2019 now that we have built new partnerships with Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Invest NI and Liverpool City Council.’

Sarah Mitchell, director of member services, PPL added: ‘The UK music industry is renowned for producing creative, innovative and ground-breaking music and the financial support that the Momentum Music Fund provides helps support its pipeline of talent. The Fund nurtures musical talent allowing creativity to be at the heart of the music that these artists produce.’

The next deadline for applications to the Momentum Music Fund is 28 January 2019, and the PRS Foundation are particularly interested in hearing from artists outside of London.
