UK producer and songwriter Steve Levine has received two trophies at the New York Festivals' Radio Awards for his BBC documentary on Bing Crosby in Britain.

The PRS board member was acknowledged with Gold Awards for his writing and production on The Road to Rock ‘n’ Roll, a radio show commemorating the 40th anniversary of Crosby’s death.

The programme also celebrates a critical moment in radio history; the 70th anniversary of the first recording onto magnetic tape, Crosby’s Philco Radio Time.

It covers the making of Crosby’s last studio album, Seasons, his UK tour, a two-week London Palladium residency and a BBC session at Maida Vale, and was first aired on BBC Radio 2 last October.

It was co-written and produced by Levine and Lewis Borg-Cardona.

Multi-award-winning Levine is lauded for his work with Culture Club and The Clash, and has since collaborated with David Grant, Motorhead, Ziggy Marley and Honeyz, to name a few.
