John Williams, the composer behind scores for classic films such as Star Wars, ET and Indiana Jones, was among the winners at the 2012 Classical Brit awards.
The composer received the Lifetime Achievement award as well as Best Composer prize for his work on Warhorse and The Adventures of Tintin at the ceremony, which took place last night (2 October) at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Williams was honoured by a special medley of his most well known compositions from the London Symphony Orchestra.
Other notable winners included the 20 year-old pianist Benjamin Grosvenor, who became the youngest winner of a Classical Brit - he received the Critics Award for his Chopin/Liszt/Ravel album.
Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli’s celebrated the 20th year of his career by receiving an award for International Artist of the Year.
Myleene Klasse hosted the event, which was presented by The BPI, the UK’s recorded music association.
