The Swedish-born streaming service operates three account options in these territories – free, unlimited and premium – in line with its services elsewhere.

In December Chief Executive Daniel Ek announced that the company had more than five million paying customers worldwide, having doubled its paid userbase in the space of a year. One million paid subscribers are based in the US alone.

Ek also said that royalty payments doubled last year, with more than half a billion dollars now paid out over Spotify’s lifespan.

In total, Spotify has more than 20 million active users based in the US, UK, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Luxembourg, Italy, Poland and Portugal.
