Eighties pop act Spandau Ballet have confirmed they are working on new music with producer Trevor Horn.
The group took to Twitter to announce they are currently writing and recording their first album of new material since 1989.
Chief songwriter and guitarist Gary Kemp tweeted a picture of the band in the studio with Trevor Horn: ‘Guess what, we’re working with this genius. And before you say anything, Martin isn’t in today…’
Saxophonist Steve Norman added: ‘Back in Sarm studios again with Trevor Horn. Last time was for the Band Aid single in ’84.’
Spandau originally broke up in 1989 after releasing their final album Heart Like A Sky, then became embroiled in a legal battle over royalties.
The band enjoyed a reunion tour in 2009 and released an album Once More featuring reworked versions of old material plus two new songs.
Earlier this year, they debuted a documentary of their career called Soul Boys Of The Western World at SXSW.
