Soweto Kinch, Omar Puente and Carleen Anderson are among the headline acts at this year’s Canary Wharf Jazz Festival.

The event, which runs from 16-18 August in Canada Square Park, will see some of the jazz scene’s leading lights performing at the free event.

Last year’s festival, which is now in its seventh year, will also see the likes of Roller Trio and Troyka performing over the three days.

Alto-saxophonist and MC Soweto has been a major figure in both the British jazz and hip hop scenes, especially after his 2013 double album A Legend of Mike Smith.

Read our recent interview with Soweto and a full length feature on the new generation of jazz artists doing their best to change old fashioned perceptions of the genre.
