Jason Yarde, Gemma Nash and Joanna Ward are among the composers selected by Sound and Music for its New Voices initiative.

Almost 30 composers have been chosen by the organisation for their talent development schemes.

These programmes include the Embedded, Portfolio, Pathways and Next Wave projects.

According to Sound and Music, 'the [composers] are pioneering some of the most exciting innovations in music composition and performance today.

'New Voices are selected through a highly competitive open process to create new work with their residency partners, who can be as stylistically diverse as the ROLISage Gateshead and the British Paraorchestra (to name but a few!).'

Other selected composers include Samantha Fernando, Tom Barnes and Blasio Kavuma.
