Sony/ATV Music Publishing and its Naughty Words joint venture with Naughty Boy have signed a long-term deal with songwriting duo Mojam.

Mojam are James Murray and Mustafa Omer, a pair of songwriters who have penned hits for the likes of Emeli Sande, Naughty Boy and Rizzle Kicks.

This new announcement is the extension of a deal in place since the launch of the Naughty Words joint venture.

Shahid Khan, aka Naughty Boy and Naughty Words founder and director, said: ‘They were the first signings to Naughty Words and they are now the first re-signings.

‘It's great as their publisher and their friend that our relationship continues. They've learnt a lot in the last few years and they are going to gain from that.’

He added: ‘They've got a lot of cuts and are also working on their own artist project, which I'm really excited about and which labels in the UK and US are talking to them about. That will be an important next phase in their career when they become artist/producers.’

The pair worked on Naughty Boy's own UK chart-topping single La La La with Sam Smith, a record which recently passed one million sales according to Official Charts Company figures.

Current Mojam projects include work on Emeli Sande's eagerly-anticipated follow up to her debut Our Version Of Events as well as contributing to the debut album from Jess Glynne - her vocals have graced chart toppers such as Clean Bandit's Rather Be and Route 94's My Love.
