Classical singer and lyricist Carly Paoli has signed to Sony/ATV through a deal the publisher struck with independent record company and publisher ABIAH.
The agreement covers ABIAH’s entire song catalogue, including songs by Paoli and composer, arranger and conductor Romano Musumarra.
English-Italian talent Paoli has cowrites with Ennio and Andrea Morricone on her debut album Singing My Dreams, which reached number two in the UK’s Official Classical Albums Chart last year.
She has also worked with Jose Carreras, Andrea Bocelli and David Foster, and performed for the Prince of Wales and the Pope.
Paoli said of the deal: ‘Lyrics are the first thing that draw me into a song - the beautiful ability to tell a story through music. So, it's very humbling and so fulfilling as an artist to know that my music will become a part of Sony/ATV's wonderful history.’
Fran Malyan, Sony/ATV UK senior vice president of A&R and catalogue said: ‘I’m thrilled to be working with Carly, who is a huge talent and I look forward to being part of her journey to the top.’
