PRS for Music members to win at the 62nd Ivor Novello Awards.
Skepta (above) was named Songwriter of the Year and also won the award for Best Contemporary Song at the 62nd Ivor Novello Awards.
Collecting his award he said: 'I've really fallen in love with songwriting, it's really helped me out throughout my life. Every emotion ... Songwriting has really allowed me to appreciate and understand life, and instead of being involved with the emotion it makes me think how can I help other people relate to it in this way.'
The PRS for Music Outstanding Contribution to British Music Award went to Anne Dudley. The PRS for Music Most Performed Work went to Coldplay for Hymn for the Weekend and legendary Bill Withers collected the PRS for Music Special International Award.
Other winners included Gary Numan who took the Inspiration Award and Laura Mvula who received the coveted Album Award for The Dreaming Room.
In his welcoming speech BASCA Chairman Crispin Hunt said: 'In celebrating the exceptional power of British and Irish music writing and by honouring the past, the present and the eternal creators of music - once again this year, The Ivors absolutely smashed it. BASCA’s heartfelt congratulations go out to every winning composer. Whether you wrote songs, symphonies or syncs - we salute you.'
