The 20-strong list crosses genres from jazz to hip hop, folk to classical and rock to electronic, and artists nominated include Scottish legends and newcomers.
Music fans will get their chance to vote for their favourite album during a 72-hour period starting Monday 26 May.
The album with the most public votes will secure an automatic place on The SAY Award Shortlist of 10, with the other nine titles being chosen by an independent panel of judges.
The final award ceremony will take place on 19 June at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom.
