Sacha Skarbek signs with BMG Germany

Sacha Skarbek, co-writer of Miley Cyrus hit Wrecking Ball and two time Ivor Novello winner, has signed a new deal with BMG Germany.

Sacha Skarbek, co-writer of Miley Cyrus hit Wrecking Ball and two time Ivor Novello winner, has signed a new deal with BMG Germany.

Sacha’s most recent hit was a co-writing credit on the song from the former Disney star which topped charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

He also helped co-write James Blunt’s debut album Back To Bedlam including the global smash hit You’re Beautiful. His work gained him two Ivor Novello Awards in 2006.

Other writing credits include work with Adele, Lana Del Ray, Sir Paul McCartney and Joss Stone.

Sacha Skarbek, said: ‘Feeling very excited about taking the next stage of my career as a songwriter with BMG. Already feel like I am part of the family!

Maik Pallasch, managing director at BMG Germany, added: ‘Sacha is one of very few composers that can write international hit songs for diverse world-class artists, such as James Blunt, Adele and Miley Cyrus. Wrecking Ball is his current number one success and I am sure others will follow.’

The multi-instrumentalist graduated from Oxford University in music and plays the French horn, clarinet and percussion as well as the piano.
