The award-winning British singer has signed a worldwide royalty deal with Cooking Vinyl for a special Nashville album.
Rumer is currently working on her fifth studio album in Nashville with renowned songwriter Hugh Prestwood and producer Fred Mollin.
The record is set for release in 2020, but before that she will perform an intimate solo show at Rye Jazz Festival at St Mary’s Church on 24 August.
Rumer released her debut record Seasons of My Soul in 2010, and the album went on to sell over a million copies, eventually being certified 2x platinum in the UK.
Her follow up record Boys Don’t Cry was a covers collection of seventies-era artists like Todd Rundgren and Isaac Hayes, which hit number three in the UK charts.
She teamed up with Burt Bacharach’s collaborator Rob Shirakbari for her third album, 2014’s Into Colour and the partnership continued for her 2016 record This Girl’s in Love: A Bacharach Songbook.
Rumer says: ‘I am really excited that Cooking Vinyl trusted my vision for this project and working with an independent label has been a very pleasant change! I’m looking forward to continuing that relationship.’
