British dance act Rudimental and emerging artist Bipolar Sunshine are to write, record, release, rehearse and perform an original song within 24 hours.

The challenge is part of the BACARDI Beginnings mentoring programme which partners an established artist with a new talent of their choice and tasks them with writing a song together.

On 11 July, the two acts will meet at a London recording studio at 07:00 with the process climaxing at 19:00 with a live gig at The Vaults in Waterloo.

Rudimental’s Piers Agget said: ‘Getting exposure in the music industry has never been easy and is getting increasingly harder for new artists. We’ve been fans of Bipolar Sunshine’s work for a while now and it’s great that this kind of opportunity exists with BACARDÍ Beginnings.

‘The programme is different to anything we’ve come across before - the development of an artist’s music from conception to promotion in just 24 hours is a huge challenge and will really push our and Bipolar Sunshines’s creativity and production skills.’

Last year’s initiative was launched with the pairings of AlunaGeorge and Friendly Fires, Jessie Ware and Joe Goddard and Ronika with Mylo.

You'll be able to follow the project on the BACARDI Beginnings website.
