Two members of chart topping British dance act Rudimental are to receive honorary degrees from their university.
Piers Aggett and Kesi Dryden graduated from Leeds Metropolitan in 2008. The pair completed studies in BSc (Hons) Creative Music and Sound Technology at the academic institution.
They make up one half of Rudimental, the UK group who topped the album charts with their debut record Home.
The release featured a range of collaborators with Ella Eyre, Emeli Sande and John Newman on number one single Feel the Love. In February this year, the band won their first BRIT award for Best British Single for their track Waiting All Night.
Susan Price, Leeds Metropolitan University vice-chancellor, told the BBC: ‘We could not be more proud of them.
‘An inspiration to both our students and current graduates, they are living proof that hard work and determination does pay off and we are delighted to recognise their contribution to the arts.’
The pair will receive the award today (24 July). Amir Amor and DJ Locksmith make up the rest of the band.
