The first offer is for three £3,000 commissions to create a piece for Philharmonia, which will be performed as part of the Music of Today Series.

The successful composers will also be able to attend regular workshops and seminars throughout the year.

A fourth winner will receive the Susan Bradshaw Composers’ Fund commission, also worth £3,000, to write a chamber work for the Cheltenham Music Festival, plus a workshop and performance of the commissioned piece.

A fifth composer will receive £1,000 to write the Presteigne Festival Alan Horne Memorial commission for a small chamber work premiered in the Presteigne Festival.

The scheme is open to any composer aged 28 and under who is studying or has studied at a UK conservatoire or university, and the deadline for applications is 31 March 2015.
