Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland, both PRS for Music members, have revealed they are currently working on new material that will be ready for release in the autumn.
The pair has signed to Cooking Vinyl for the album, and said it will be preceded by tour with long-time friend Robyn over the summer.
So far, the only confirmed UK appearance is at Latitude Festival, which takes place from 17 to 20 July in Suffolk.
Over their 16-year career, Royksopp have topped the charts around the world and have notched up four consecutive number ones in their native Norway.
Last week, Cooking Vinyl also announced it had signed the newly reformed UB40.
The band’s founders and frontmen Ali Campbell, Astro and keyboardist Mickey Virtue have agreed a two album deal with the label, with the first release expected by the end of the year.
UB40 were given a PRS for Music Heritage Award in 2011 and have sold more than 70 million records over their 30 year career.
