Roundhouse Rising 2012 is a festival of new music, workshops, seminars and panes that takes place at The Roundhouse in Camden Town, London.
Pitching itself as the best place to see brand new talent, the line-up includes Mz Bratt, YGLU, Azekel, Lovelle and Dizzietron, Beaty Heart, Lady Leshurr, Natty and RasItes, The History of Apple Pie and Drop Out Venus.
Events and workshops include Through The Glass Ceiling - a focus on women in music and Bass Culture: The Influence of Reggae on British Music, whilst Un-Convention looks at political voices and social messages through spoken word, hip hop, social media, art and culture.
Among the speakers are Gilles Peterson, Riz MC, Kate Tempest (The Sound of Rum), Soweto Kinch, Ian Birrell (ex editor of The Independent and Africa Express co-founder), Caspar Llewellyn Smith (Music Editor of The Observer and Guardian) and Mark Antoinne Moreau (manager of Amadou and Mariam).
