Manchester dance music producer Marcus Intalex has sadly passed away.
The artist and DJ, who also released house and techno under the guise of Trevino, died over the weekend although details around his death are not yet known.
The Burnley-born Intalex, real name Marcus Kaye, started his musical career during the nineties, promoting the drum and bass club night Guidance in Manchester.
He went on to set up the Soul:r label and run the Soul:ution night, releasing drum and bass via the imprint as well as the likes of Metalheadz and Exit Records.
In 2011, he created his Trevino name to focus on more house and techno styles, releasing music via The Nothing Special, Hotflush and Klockworks.
A statement posted on his the Soul:r label Facebook page said: 'It's with heavy hearts and great sadness we have announce that Marcus passed away this morning.
'Thanks for the kind words so far and we appreciate the privacy and respect shown for his loved ones and friends at this sad time.'
Many dance music heavy hitters have taken to Twitter to pay their respects.
RAM’s Andy C said: 'I can't believe it ... lost for words ... a true master & legend has left us. RIP Marcus Intalex. Sending love & strength to his family.'
Chase & Status said: 'RIP Marcus Intalex. Such devastating news, another legend, one of Manchester's greats taken too early. Our thoughts are with his family.'
