Ringo Starr has signed a worldwide publishing deal with BMG covering his entire solo catalog spanning almost 50 years, as well as future compositions.

The deal features over 150 tracks from The Beatles drummer and multi-platinum solo recording artist, including his songwriting contributions with The Beatles on track such as What Goes On, Flying and Maggie Mae.

As a solo artist, Starr – who was recently honored with a knighthood for his services to music and charity work – has released 19 studio albums, featuring chart-topping singles including It Don't Come Easy, Photograph, You're Sixteen and Back Off Boogaloo.

In September last year, he released his 19th studio album, Give More Love, which featured his former Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney playing bass on two tracks as well as backing vocals.

In a post on the BMG website, Starr said: 'I love making music and the songwriting process - and putting new music out there to play alongside the old. How great to be working with BMG who are excited to have my entire catalog.'

BMG US president, repertoire and marketing, Zach Katz said: 'It is an understatement to say our entire team is overwhelmingly excited to welcome Ringo to the BMG family.'

BMG chief executive officer Hartwig Masuch added: 'Ringo Starr is a contemporary artist with an incredible history, and BMG is exceptionally proud that he has chosen us to represent his past and future songs.'
