Seminal rock act The The are to release a reissue of their classic album Soul Mining to celebrate 30 years since the album's release.
The Soul Mining 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition Boxset is a re-mastered, re-packed and expanded version of their major label debut album due for release on Monday (30 June).
A special event at London’s Rough Trade East will take place on the day. This will feature a rare Q&A with The The’s Matt Johnson and DJ Food about the making of the record.
The vinyl only release was re-mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Matt Johnson and packaged in a lavish 12 box. It also includes an authentic reproduction of the 1983 release on 180g vinyl, plus an extra gatefold vinyl of alternative versions and remixes.
G Thirwell (aka Foetus, Manorexia and Steroid Maximus), Zeke Manyika (Orange Juice), electronic DIY pioneer Thomas Leer and Jools Holland were among the artists and musicians who helped Matt make the record.
