Radiohead have collaborated with design agency Universal Everything on PolyFauna, a free app for Android, iPhone and iPad.
The touchscreen app offers users the chance to create their own unique ‘evolving world’ experience based on the music and art of the band.
Writing on Radiohead’s blog, Thom Yorke said: ‘PolyFauna is an experimental collaboration between us (Radiohead) and Universal Everything, born out of The King of Limbs sessions and using the imagery and the sounds from the song Bloom.
‘It comes from an interest in early computer life-experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious.’
App users are able to submit snapshots of the interior worlds of PolyFauna they discover directly to the band's website as they progress through the app.
M recently interviewed Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood as part of Independent Venue Week.
Read Colin's thoughts on the importance of live music to new and emerging bands.
