Oxford rockers Radiohead are to begin rehearsing and recording new music from September, guitarist Jonny Greenwood has revealed.

He made the comments during an interview with Mary Ann Hobbes on her BBC6 Music show.

Jonny said: ‘We're going to start up in September, playing, rehearsing and recording and see how it's sounding.’

A new record would be the band's ninth album. Their latest LP - King of Limbs - was released in 2011 with various members choosing to concentrate on solo projects since then.

Frontman Thom Yorke has busied himself with his side project Atoms for Peace while Jonny has worked on classical work and compositions including a classical score for new film Inherent Vice.

Earlier in the year we spoke to Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood in his role as ambassador for Independent Venue Week.

He hinted at the group getting together at some stage this year in the interview. Click here to read the full interview.
