PRS for Music has confirmed the appointment of two new directors.
The collecting society, which represents more than 100,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers, has announced the appointments of commercial director, Paul Clements and executive director of Membership and International, Karen Buse.
Paul joined PRS for Music in 1996 and has extensive experience across the company having worked in Member Services, IT, Recorded Media and most recently as the director of Public Performance Sales.
Karen has been with the company since 1991 and has worked across a variety of roles from Radio and Overseas Distribution to IT and International
Robert Ashcroft, PRS for Music’s chief executive, said: ‘I am particularly pleased that, after a comprehensive search, the strongest candidates for both these roles came from within the organisation. Paul has impressive knowledge of the industry, excellent strategic and leadership skills and I am very pleased to appoint him to this key role.
‘Karen is also steeped in our industry and has made excellent network contacts around the world. She also understands the needs of the membership and has already made strides in improving our service to them. Her combination of commercial acumen and relationship skills equip her perfectly for this important role.’
