PRS Foundation has announced the latest set of producers and songwriters who will receive support from The Hitmaker Fund.

Launched in 2017, the fund offers an opportunity for UK-based songwriters, producers and music creators who are working behind-the-scenes in popular music genres to further develop their careers, with grants of up to £10,000 being made available.

Hitmaker applicants can apply for support for a range of reasons, including training, studio hire, equipment purchasing, maternity leave and childcare.

PRS Foundation has confirmed today (1 August) that six more producers and songwriters are to receive support from the fund: Jenna Donnelly (childcare), Mike Brainchild (studio hire, equipment and training),  Mont Jake (studio equipment), Reiss Nicholas (time to create), Rory James (studio equipment) and Tannergard (studio hire).

Speaking about being supported by the Hitmaker Fund, producer and songwriter Rory commented: 'I am so incredibly grateful to PRS Foundation for awarding me the Hitmaker funding. I feel like I’m at a pivotal point in my career at the moment and this funding will give me the support I need to take a big forward step with my songwriting and production.

'Being able to have the freedom to accept the exciting sessions that are being offered to me right now and upgrading my studio to do the best work I possibly can is such an amazing privilege.'

The next round of Hitmaker funding will open for applications on 7 August, with a deadline to submit applications set for 4 September.

In order to be eligible for entry, you must be a UK-based songwriter, producer or music creator who has had at least three commercially exploited works - whether performed live, received media coverage, radio play, streams or been released via commercial channels.
